Microsoft plans to release the next major update for Windows 10, which is codenamed Redstone 3. In this release, Microsoft plans to disable the 30-year-old SMBv1 file sharing protocol.
At present, due to compatibility reasons, Microsoft is still in all versions of the Windows operating system by default enabled SMBv1, but the implementation of the SMBv1 protocol loopholes led to extortion software WannaCry in the existence of loopholes in the system widely disseminated, but the affected system is mainly Windows 7 instead of Microsoft plans to update Windows 10.
Microsoft confirmed that the user will not include SMBv1 when installing the system, but SMBv1 will remain in the system when upgrading from an existing system. Microsoft’s decision will not affect the existing system.
